Repair and Retexturing of Coated CanvasThis procedure outlines the steps for creating a texture mold (Phase 1) and subsequently repairing and retexturing the coated canvas (Phase 2).
Phase 1:
1.1 Preparation of the Texture MoldingPreparation of Molding Material: Prepare Pattern Molding component A and component B. Mix equal quantities of components A and B in a 1:1 ratio. Knead the mixture rapidly and thoroughly (to prevent premature hardening).
1.2 Application of Molding Material: Immediately flatten the mixed material into a sheet, approximately 1.5 mm thick, onto the surface from which the texture is to be replicated. Ensure the sheet has a uniform thickness across its entire area.
1.3 Curing and Removal: Allow the mold to set for approximately 3–5 minutes. Gently test the surface with a fingertip. If no fingerprint impression remains on the mold, it can be carefully lifted using a spatula.
Phase 2:
2.1 Canvas Repair and Texture ApplicationPreparation of Heating Tool: Plug in the iron and set it to its highest heat setting. (Note: If the power supply is 110 V, a voltage converter must be used). Wait until the iron is fully heated. (Always place the hot iron on a heat-insulating surface.)
2.2 Base Layer Patching (If Required): If the underside of the Coated Canvas has a hole, cut a piece of BT.MESH slightly larger than the hole. Apply BT.Water Base Glue to the back of the BT.MESH and affix it to the hole to create a stabilizing base layer.
2.3 Surface Filling: Fill and level the damaged surface area using BT.Vinyl Repair.
2.4 Mold Placement: Carefully place the texture mold prepared in Phase 1 onto the area filled with BT.Vinyl Repair. Ensure that the texture direction on the mold is aligned with the original pattern on the canvas bag.
2.5 Heat Barrier Application: Place the BT.Heat Pad on top of the mold before applying heat.
2.6 Heat Application (Curing): Apply heat to the BT.Vinyl Repair area using the Mini Heat Iron. Continue ironing until the BT.Vinyl material changes from an opaque white state to clear (transparent). Caution: If the material remains opaque, it will lack flexibility and be prone to cracking and peeling during use.
2.7 Texture Verification: Once the BT.Vinyl Repair has turned clear, the surface should replicate the texture of the original canvas. If the resulting texture is unsatisfactory, repeat the process starting from Step 4 of Phase 2.
2.8 Final Step (Coloring): Once the surface texture is satisfactory, proceed with the standard coloring process using the BT.Synthetic Color System.
